ok. let's hear from everyone for march 3. my suggestion is wild azalea trail. it has good parking, good places to hang, and a bathroom.

another place someone mentioned is chicot state park. i am not familiar with it, and think there will be a fee. you can only camp in designated areas and not sure if our state parks are hang friendly. someone who may know more, please chime in.

I have hung in Chicot a couple of times. I am not a fan of state parks. I don't like having to pay for something we can all get for free.

Only thing with this is water availability.

There are a few places we can play.
The WAT has five trail head all of which we could hang nearby in the wood line. Only one I believe has restroom facilities.
Kisatchie has the Backbone trail/Caroline Dormon, with restrooms at the parking lot/trail head and we could hang just behind the restroom (a few hundred feet or so). Also with a short hike in, 3 miles we could hang on the side of a cliff.
Just down the road from the Backbone trail/Caroline Dormon is Kisatchie Bayou camp site. Has water from the bayou. I think this is a pay site, never been.

So I am game. Have backpack, will travel.

Looking back on all the posts, it seems the weekend of March 2,3 and 4 seems to accommodated most of us.

I know a great little spot on the WAT next to the end of Lake Kincaid. ORR and S. Sloth and I scouted it last spring and we hung there last weekend. Its a mile and a half on the trail but it is right on the lake.

Its super easy to find. Its the start point, or end point depending, of the Lake Shore Trail.
i have car camp gear if you need Jaz. I may bring my little one too.

Oh man gear I got. Been fine tuning my gear the last year or so. Got all I need with some luxuries and still have room in the pack. Not sure if my little boy will make this trip, it will depend on the weather and his momma.
