First thing I did was replace the stock ropes and hook with a ring buckle system. If anyone wants my ropes and hooks let me know, never used.

what kind of rope is it? does it stretch? the line should be rated to more than the hammock. sounds like it's the hook that's doing it. anyone had their line fail when using something other than the hooks?

I just took my ropes off to play tarp time and I am not confident in the ropes any more. While they did not fail... I would like to hang myself from them if this much damage is done in such a short time. I would surprised if I werre in it more than one half hour.

If I ever get mine, I'll replace the ropes right away.

I guess everyone will have this in their reviews.

    rigidpsycho goes BOOM!

I was just in the backyard hanging the ATHH before going to the Red River Gorge for the hang when all of a sudden SNAP! rope broke and down I went. I gues I now qualify for the fall on arse award.

If you had problem with the stock ropes, please mention it when you submit your review.

I already changed over to it being on my ridgeline*. But first test was as sent, I (200 Lbs) lay in it about 15 min & son (180 Lbs) was in it about 20, no signs of wear. I have the exact same ropes on my 1.5 year old "Skeeter beeter" with NO signs of wear, & I'm in it almost 2 of every 3 nights.
My first night in the new one will be tonight as I had to work yesterday/night & didn't get mine till way late tuesday. Only had time to set up & look Tuesday.
So far, my only "Problem" & it's a happy one I suppose, my hammock sock & underquilt may no longer fit cause the new one is about 1 ft longer & about 2 wider. Will see tonight.

*no modifications, just removed the hooks & threaded on the ridgeline.
