I am a father and my daughter and myself like Star Wars. I combined the names. It drives her nuts.

Not much to tell: name and state. Thought long and hard about being Canoe-ster ( a friend or two call me this) but it didn't seem to relate to my participating here. Also considered Cw/oM (Camping without Martha) because that's pretty much the only times that I either get to or, frankly, want to sleep in something other than a tent. As I said, not much to tell...

That's reason enough. I have three daughters myself.
Like most people, my trail name was given to me. In my case, a sarcastic comment from a cousin about where I was hiking next bore my name. I have used it on countless forums for the last twenty years.

A while back, in one of Obama's lawless agencies (I think it was the EPA) the top brass used private email accounts to communicate surreptitiously. For email addresses they used a pets name followed by the name of a town in New Jersey, eg. Butch Trenton. Hence, Rex Clifton.
Canoe, because I like to canoe rivers. And Gnu as in the linux distro because I'm kind of geeky that way. Plus I love that the two words in my life can be spelled this way. Can-Gnu. Nothing spectacular. And I gather from Shug's videos that when you guys get together you called each other by your forum names and I don't mind being called CanGnu.
Mine is ginger because I'm a ginger and then cooks because I love cooking. Not very mysterious, I'm afraid, but I have been planning to drag my dutch oven along car camping next weekend in order to make braised beef short ribs on the fire so I guess some people benefit from it.
