Always the greenhorn back then, was picked to walk point. Even later on in my career, I did walk point for special units when they were in my Area Of Operations (AO). and Still did walk point on a occasional night KT or Patrol. Some of us never learn I guess.

I'm first generation Irish in the States. During my college years, my friends and I became fans of watching and quoting Guy Ritchie movies. After watching Snatch, and being the only Irishman, they started referring to me as the pikey. It stuck.

My screen name is composed of my initials for my fist and last name "fg", "buffalo" for the Patrol I was in during my Wood Badge course and "2010" the year in which I received my Wood Badge beads. Wood Badge is an advanced training course for adult Boy Scout Leaders. I was in Wood Badge Course SR-981.

Mine's easy - I ride Italian motor scooters - vespas, lambrettas etc, alwatys have and always will.

In my glove/tool box you will always find some rope, a tarp and a small stove... until recently when I now have to find room for a hammock. I normally tour/camp on the scoot stopping to eat and throw the tarp up for the night - now I'll be looking for trees.

    cheers

I was talking to Darby with Tree to Tree Trail Gear at Trail Days and told him I played an acoustic bass in a bluegrass band, so he called me " Thumper " because I thump a bass.

Mine is a combo. My family nick name growing up was bobo pronounced Bob-Oh. Later in life while in the Navy, Just when I thought Id long outlived the nickname, A Chief and my self were (info redacted because it might incriminate me ) and listening to The Who while waiting for our Aircraft to return from an Op over Iraq. We were listening to Baba O’riley when Chief looked over at me and said “hence forth you shall no longer be Hocker you instead shall be Bob Oh!”

I have always had a love and fascination with aviation, RC aircraft and RC Rockets! I just hate to FLY! So once the Chief figured out I had to get soaked before every flight , Bob Oh went to “Flying Bob Oh!” Fortunately for me “BOBO” was already painted on my Plane. flying_bobo has been with me every since!

I was not a pilot so don’t panic!

Looking forward to a trail name, hopefully it wont be Bobo Bear magnate or something like that!
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speek kindly and leave the rest to God!

Moto rapido means "fast motorcycle" in Italian or Spanish. For years I operated a shop restoring vintage 1950s and 1960s Vespa and Lambretta motorscooters and 1950s Italian one-lunger motorcycles and the occasional British bike. They were all breathtakingly beautifuly, stylish and elegant. Not a one of them was fast, however. So Moto Rapido made for a good, wishful and funny name for the business, and my e-mail handle.
