My screen-name is also a portmanteau. I spend a lot of time in Wisconsin communities with "Water" in the name (Waterloo, Watertown, Whitewater, Waterford) and I enjoy floating fishing with a one-man inflatable pontoon (aka ~'toon). Water + toon becomes Watertooner.

My name has a couple of meanings for me. It is my trail name, (AT thru hiker class of 2015) upon reaching the summit of Springer the "AT ambassador" greeted me with much more enthusiasm and energy than I had left after the finishing the approach trail, telling me where the shelter was, asking me to sign the register, what's my name, etc. To which I replied, "I'm just gonna chill a while." I was so exhausted I probably only said "I'm Chill-a-While."
Chillawhile also happens to be the name of a backpackers hostel in New Zealand I worked at back in 2009, and is where I met my fiancee.

I love riding bicycles, now recumbents only, and I love to tour on my recumbents and sleep in hammocks. So, Bike-Ham.

NO! Bad ADVR9T! That's a town bike. It's time to trade for a GS with huge fridge sized trunk and panniers. I can't say much tho. I have huge black plastic Givi knock off trunk and side cases on my Honda CB500X. I am about to upgrade to huge silver aluminum panniers, so they'll survive a drop off road.
Nothing to see here. Keep moving.

I was originally planning on trading my Ducati in for a GS... But i just really liked the looks of the R9T.

It worked remarkably well for a trip from VA to Prudhoe Bay. And now there are some nice luggage options available.

How do you like the CB500X? I like the potential of those bikes for adventure riding.

Though, that Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled has me thinking...

BMW never fails to impress, or maybe that should be their owners.

I love my little CB. I take it offroad and ride gravel roads a lot. Nothing rough as it has little suspension travel and the suspension can react fast enough. On rough gravel roads, the rear tire looses traction. I'm planning a complete suspension rebuild my way. No Rally Raid products. The bike is a little tall for me. I'm a fairly hefty short guy at 5'8" 230lbs with a 28" inseam. It's worth a try, if you don't mind a used bike. They can be found for around $3000 to $3500 used. New left overs from 2015/16 can be had for as little as $4500. Just know that 2016 brought about some cosmetic, suspension, and transmission changes. All for the better from what I've heard.

Nothing to see here. Keep moving.

I mean... Look at my picture. I am 6'2" with BRIGHT red hair. Has gotten a tinge dark as I have aged. It was almost orange as a child. But nonetheless my dad always called me Big Red. I outgrew him by the time I was 11 or 12 years old. He is only about 5"5" or 5'6". Most of my siblings are short and squatty folk. So I guess I am the mailman's son or something.

Anyhow most of my friends just call me Red and I am plenty good with that.
