I think it evolved from last name Ferland, a crazy little Italian kid at school use to call me Ferball. I kinda liked it so I use it as a screen name.

I was better known as Big Sexy when I dwelt in a tent in the dessert, but I always thought the name was a little pretentious so I stick with Ferball.

From Indiana, father of 2 awesome kids, and I think it's a great play on words.

Growing up, fishing was kinda a right of passage in my family. Still is I guess. Anyway, my oldest brother started to call my other brother bullhead, cause that was his first catch. Mind you I remember None of this but apparently my first catch was a tin can.

My great grandfather, whose nickname was DUDE, settled in what now is called the GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK, and is buried there. After my great grandfather two generations of my family lived in those same MOUNTAINS prior to being moved by the National Park Service. Thus, the mountains are in my heritage and 1MTNDUDE is my name.

Aint what you would think! Not for my compass skills! Many, many years ago when we were pups, my old pal Mule and I took a long tramp through the Sangre de Cristo mountains. To cut our pack weights we shared a tent. WRONG!! After a week in the woods the atmosphere was so rank in that tent, we both had to sleep with our heads outside to keep from croakin'. He later said I smelled so bad. He thought I was Dead! Reckon I'd been so for a spell! There ya go! Dead Reckon! Mule's nickname ain't Rose either! Big Al

Although I think the TV show was a classic...

My moniker stems from my company nickname at military college. At VMI, Foxtrot Company was notoriously known as Ftroop...and finally I am a member of the class of '94.

This comically reminds me of the Ftroop company motto; "If the minimums weren't good enough, there wouldn't be minimums"!
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.
