ALRA stands for the American Long Rifle Association, a living history organization I used to belong to. NY is for New York and 187 is my ALRA Patriot (or full membership) number.

Lost_Biker - I'm a cycle tourist who has gotten lost more times than I can count. My family never complains about me getting lost - just finding my way back!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Well, there really isn't anything to explain here, except that I'm not much of one for screen-names, and I don't have a trail name as of yet. I'm just Isaiah.

Darn. Iwas thinking Jax Beer. Do they still make that stuff?
We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869

Manchego...Spanish cheese. I picked up the stuff one time at a Wegmans near Leesburg, VA, heading out on a hike and thought "Hmmm...Cheese and grapes would be good." It was like crack for me, I proceeded to find every place in a 10 mi radius I could buy it, and brought it out on the trail with me whenever possible. It seemed more refined than "Sheep Cheese" to my ear....
