I'm with you on the meaning, fits well enough, but - and absolutely without any offence intended, or trying to 'diss' in any way - you're a wee bit 'off' with the pronounciation of 'laoch'.

It's one vowel sound ie no separate sounding of the 'a' and 'o'. And it pretty much sounds as if you're trying to make both of these sounds at exactly the same time.

The 'ch' is the next bit - and just about everyone has issues with that! It's not a 'ck' sound as in lock, neither is it a 'ch' as in 'choose'. It's almost like a 'clearing the throat' noise, or trying to get something unstuck from the roof of your mouth!

I'm sure there'll be some sound file resources out there somewhere, and I could maybe find a link if you were interested.

But if what your doing works for you, then crack on! HYOH.

    cheers

There is a last name that goes with it. *It is MacTalabh means Son of the earth. *I pronounce it Mak-Tall-eev. *Is that right?
Well trying to learn from a book is by your self is the problem. I will leave it the way it is since I have been saying that way for about 10 years. Thanks for the lesson though, much appreciated. I would love any links that you may have. It is a language that must not die. Alba gu brŕth!

In the military when you move from the lower enlisted ranks and become a noncommissioned officer, you are a sell out... I am a big fat one.

I love hiking and just taking a stroll through the woods. And ever since I discovered Vibram Fivefingers and put them on my feet, I haven't worn anything else. (Except my boots in uniform)

My nick name in real life is brute... I was given that name by my ability to break anything that could be broken and even a few things they said couldn't be broken at work... So a buddy started calling me brute, for brute strength and it stuck... Through paintball and xbox and now into the forums... And the 1100 comes from my bike a yamaha v star 1100 custom... So that's it...
