Well lazy river road is the name of a Dead song my favorite band. Its also how I like to think of the trail. As one long lazy river road.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

It's a little tough to say right now but I am a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. They're America's team so I just switched it to fit on a hammock forum.

In my youth I used to scour the plowed fields around my home looking for arrowheads and other stone indian artifacts. Then in 84, during a particularly eventful and formative year in my life, I found a fairly rare type of bannerstone which serendipitously took me down an unexpected path in my life. It's been my screen name since the early 90's for a number of virtual communities and it still reminds me of the small events of my life that had far reaching impacts.

Mine was given to me at the Cincinnati Zoo, I was the first aid department. The Zoo employees started calling me "Doc" then over the years it slowly evolved to Doctari. I told that story my first night on the AT during a section hike, it stuck.

This has been fun, and educational. More!

Sargevining is the screen name my late wife gave me when she signed us up for AOL lo these many years ago. Combination of Army rank and last name. Technically, I was a Specialist 5th Class in the Regular Army and occupied a "hard stripe" Sergeant slot for a year in the Army Reserve after that (long story---suitable for campfire)---but have you ever tried to explain to a civilian the difference between a Spec 5 and a Buck Sergeant?

And please don't lump me in with guys like Acer just because I wore green clothes for all occasions. I spent 1972-1975 riding a typewriter in an Aviation unit at Fort Sill, and 75-82 riding a teletype machine at a Reserve Comm unit in Denton, TX.

    Mine means I'm hungry.

A few of my ancestors were members of the Donner Party. I still carry the last name, minus one of the "n"s. Just seemed a very fitting name to carry with me on my AT hike. Way I figured, it would remind me of how bad things could actually be and possibly help me get over my whining, gritching, and moaning. Just a good way to remember: things can always be worse than they are right now.

That, and I like to see the looks on people's faces when I introduce myself.

Was a CWO3 in USMC and warrant officers in Marines ared called gunners. Many people in area that knew me after I retired still called me gunner and I started using gunner76 ( I joined in 1976 ) as a username.

The reason for my screen name is simple...

It's easier to spell than "Wusarriadh Oth".
