My nick name is Sonny a friend came up with Sunster years ago. My lucky number is 33 hence Sunster33. I am new to hanging. I have made my first gathered end hammock and have been testing it in the garage. It is a lot of fun making woopie slings and tree straps. I still have to make an under quilt for the cold nights.

    New guy here

Forgive me if I am doing this wrong, it's my first forum post. My name is ParaHanger because I am a paranormal investigator. Seemed to fit nice with my newest obsession of hanging in a hammock.

    Ya, what's in a name

Been hammocking for a few years now with my Hennessey Explorer. Use it when I'm kayaking, backpacking and flyfishing wild trout waters in western North Carolina. I've had my "nom de guerre" from my stint in the Army as a medic on a scuba team, kinda goes with the territory.

It was the first thing i could come up with and i like coffee.

I had to kinda rush a name after my first group hang as i was afraid to be dubbed something "weird" by the crew after a weekend of shenanigans.

Plus our Lab's name is Java so the theme works.

I am still trying to figure out why you need any of that in ND. Just stick 'em outside, they are not going to smell. Ever smell a frozen fish?

Oh name, two parts, self explanatory. Only, I don't get paid money like Shug. Just collect smiles.

I chose Survival Student as I enjoy pushing myself, learning new skills and getting out in the great outdoors. it's my firm belief that we are all survival experts in our home town areas, we've been surviving our entire lives, some even teach kids how to survive in the same areas. for some however the home area has fewer brick walls and shops. every day I learn new things so I'm a student, and surviving, hence SurvivalStudent.

I'm a second generation potter. My parents raised my sister and I and helped put us though college by making and selling hand made pottery. Dad would invite customers' kids into the studio to watch the work and play with the clay. They would invariably get clay on themselves and their parents would often overreact. Dad always told the parents; don't worry, it's good clean dirt. Now I'm a potter and I spend my days up to my elbows in good clean dirt.
