Ok, here goes. No one calls me Little Ray. Well not really . . . anymore. There was for a period of time when people sometimes called me Little Ray, but that was toward the end.

Back in the late 90's I worked in a bar/restaurant out in western Maryland. I worked there for 2-3 years. I liked it, but it did not always show I guess. Toward the end of my time there some of the patrons called me Little Ray because well, yes . . . I was a little ray of sunshine. Sarcasm aside I was okay with it, but again it did not always show.

That was years ago, and I have moved on, living in Belgium now, and I have very little contact with the people there outside of an occasional email. Well, sometimes I look back on those times, remember dear friends and I think I should have gotten out more into the woods of western Maryland.

Now, I have found this community - people whom I might one day also call dear friends. And so, when registering for the Hammock Forums, with dreams of getting out more, I thought about a forum name and decided on it - Little Ray.

Thanks for letting me share this with you all.

If a launch to take out point is rated as an overnighter, it will take me 3 days. If you see me using a paddle it’s only because I need to move to the side of something I’m drifting up on. Why be in a hurry to get past all the great scenery, and when you are moving slow, quiet and motionless the wildlife ignore you.

Battboy with 2 t's because I'm an ex army ranger from 3rd ranger battalion. In ranger school the instructors call the candidates that are from a ranger battalion "battboys".

Not really all that of an original name for me. I kinda borrowed it from my brother (or maybe borrowing it back?) from when he was deployed in 2005. 8-9-10 is when me and my fiance got together.
