I got inventive and used my name...
My name is Latin for furnace, how i sleep.
"Mega" means great, huge, awesome - also the first four letters of my daughter's name
Combined with our last name, "Tate"
Very creative, I know. Seemed a better choice than "hesi-Tate" and "ro-Tate".
Although "LeviTate" might work...hmm
Graduated from NC State, home of the Wolfpack. It also took me a really long time!
My screen name was bestowed upon me by a hunting buddy - but during a fishing trip. He had invited me to go trout fishing in the North Georgia mountains several times but I kept declining the invitation, due to my extremely limited experience with fishing of any kind. I finally agreed to go and my buddy "assigned me" to his brother - who set about trying to teach me how to tie a knot, cast properly and land the slippery trout if I hooked one. Our first day out, I found several "hot spots" where the trout were really biting - but every time I caught one, the line would snag, the hook would come off the line or some other calamity would befall me. I would get disgusted and move to the next hole and repeat the process. In the meantime, my new "coach" would follow behind me and invariably land a nice trout in the very holes I had found during my futile effort to catch fish. When he returned to camp that evening, my "coach" started call me "Bird Dog" - since I had "sniffed out" most of the great holes he caught his limit from that day. The nickname stuck - as did my desire to keep fishing. I'm the prize student of my old "coach", now - having become a very good trout fisherman and loving that annual trip to North Georgia.
Burium is my favorite and first AD&D character I made. She kicks butt and takes names!! lol
Real name is John, but my parents always called me "Jack" after JFK.
Kinda stumbled upon my first hang where I had backpacked in with the intention of tent camping. Also, the event was in late December and this would be my first trip in cold temps. Love the outdoors but don't like being cold so I packed three bags, one fleece, one 3-season down, and one sub-zero artificial. I mentioned the 3 bags to one of the other campers and from then on I was known as:
Jackie 3 bags
