    A note of thanks...

Just wanted to send a note of thanks to all who share their knowledge and experience on the forums. I have been able to learn a lot, and last night I ordered a Speer IIIA, a 4x4 SPE, and a MacCat Deluxe. I'm looking forward to my new adventures and am grateful to be heading in the right direction after reading the posts on this site.

    Thanks again!

I know what you mean. I have a new enthusiam for camping now that I know I will be so comfortable and getting such a good night's sleep out on the trail. Perkolady gave me tons of advice and sent me here. Then getting to the hangs! Primo!

This really is a great site with great people.

Agreed!!! When I start to explore a new area of hammocking, I'm still amazed at how much I have not read on the forum. The pictures in the gallery and attached as thumbnails help a lot, too. Only problem is when I see how someone else has handled an challenge, it sometimes makes me go "duh!".

Plus, it's been fun meeting the folks, both on here and in person at hang outs.

Seriously, without this site, my hubby and I would have never even attempted hammock camping! Not only has my husband turned into quite the mcguyver of hammock stuff but I've found a new hobby of sewing stuff sacks!

My wife thinks I'm crazy for cavorting with unknown hordes of people who have an interest in playing in trees, needles and silky fabrics.

Ditto Hack's comment. Zero understanding of this whole much better way to sleep under the stars until I started reading the posts and their links on this forum. Still have a few more pages to read through. Nothing better than getting advice and opinions from experienced, real users. Only one problem. The wallet is a lot thinner, emptier. Took advantage of the "Trail Days Special" at JRB's and bought a Underquilt and Weather Shield after freezing the butt during a test hang. After reading the comparison thread of the JRB and Speers 10x11 tarps, guess what? A new tarp. First need too shake a few bills off the money tree. Just need to find the money tree.

Just remembered. Economic stimulus check. Help stimulate the US economy. Buy a designed and real Made in USA product. A Speers Winter Tarp!!

Yeah, I heard the same type of stuff when I planned and went to the Spring '07 SEHHA. And I get called a freak everytime I get on HF. Oh, the things we must endure for comfort.

Thank God that my wife is obsessed with geneology research or I'd have no defense for my hammock obsession!
