Arrow Considering buying the Hennessy Hex Rainfly 70D Polyester

As the title says I need to buy a tarp for my very first hammock that is in the mail from Southernfan and I'm liking this Hennessy Hex Rainfly 70D Polyester $60. It's in my price range. Any other comparable tarps that you guys know of for $70 or less?

I want the Hex tarp so i can still move around if it's raining and weight isn't a huge issue.

I've got this tarp, and my youngest has the WB Big Mamajamba. I've got to say that for the price, I have NO complaints with the HH Hex.

It is a bit heavier than other tarps, but it does its job well. Since it's a PU coated tarp, it doesn't mist in heavy rain like some silnylon tarps can at times.

If weight isn't a major factor, it should serve you well.

That is the tarp I use. My main complaint isn't weight as it is bulk. It doesn't pack up very compactly. The way I roll it it ends up about 4 inches taller than a nalgene but not as big around.

Great tarp for the weather though. I have road out some downpours under it and all my gear and hammock stayed dry. It is very roomy underneath, especially in porch mode.

Smile I've got 2 of them.

I've got 2 of the HH Hex rainflys and have had very good experiences with them. They are bone dry and can be pitched in a number of ways.

Its a good starter but over time you'll find that its heavy, have you looked into what oes has on his site before he closes the doors? I think he said he had some blemished ones discounted.
You can also diy for about $50 if you have sewing skills.

Ya I looked at that Maccat but the price is a bit more than I want to spend. Looking for something $70 or preferably less.

Chinook makes decent tarps. They are PU coated polyester taffeta so they are not as light as silnylon but they are under your price range. This a Canadian site but you can probably find an American retailer.
