This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for sharing this Mr. Facehugger.

I'm going to go get a cheap bag and get started later this week. The only bad thing is this means I have to carry two more carabiners with me. My GT hammock doesnt have knots that I can attach the UQ to.
I am me and no one else can be me without my permission.

Actually, I have an idea for mine. How hard is it to add a layer to my hammock (which I can do) and just use a section of a sleeping bag to slip in between the layers? Would this work the same way? I'm going to use synthetic not down, so compression wont make a difference on it. I prefer syn over down. I guess I'm an odd ball when it comes to that.

Well, It might work, but I would make the second layer pretty loose, as compression does play a role even in synth insulation. It would probably be easier to hang it.

wow looks like a great mod. I was thinking about doing the whole "cut the bottom out of a sleeping bag and put a drawstring channel in" thing myself by turning the sleeping bag into a peapod but you said you weren't a fan of it, does this version help with heat more, or i guess how is this mod better than just a regular hole with drawstring?
