    I Love Zing-it!

The wonder thread called Zing-it is a wonder product. Sure it's slick, and yes it is not a weight bearing line (I suspect it would hold me in a pinch but would never hang my hammock off it) but I love the uses I am finding for it.

    Ridgeline
It is an excellent ridgeline material, strong, light, bright, repels water, fits Tarp Flyz perfectly.

    Guylines
For many of the same reasons it works well for ridgelines it works well as guyline. In making Self-Tensioning lines it is great because it threads the exercise tubing more easily. It also fits the mini line-locs (sold here at the HF Store).

    Survival Bracelet (Zipper Pull)
I found some links at youtube for making survival bracelets out of paracord. I made some out of Zing-it and they are great. Narrower, but I probably have 6' of Zing-it in my bracelet and another 10 on my 2 zipper pulls.

    Throwline
I believe it is the tree planters that made this stuff so popular for their throwlines. Instead of purchasing a $50 throwbag and line combo for my bearbag, I just use 30 feet of Zing-it (store it in a 4 oz Trek Bottle and pull half out then use the line in the bottle as your weight). Trek Bottles are $1.50 at AHE http://arrowheadequipment.webs.com/a...s/show/1134925 . And 50' of Zing-it you can get from Dutch for $11 at http://www.outdoortrailgear.com/trai...hware-zing-it/

i've used it for a bunch of stuff.. but replacing stock ridgelines and tieouts was my favorite use.

I like how easy it is to undo a rat nest. I use to use reflective cord for bear rope but the zing it is less abrasive on the tree limb. I'm not sawing off limbs any more.

    I have a Zing-it addiction. I buy the 180' spools from Redden.
I'm considering carrying a foot long piece of it in my pocket at all times, just to fiddle with.

I want to get some lash-it because I don't want yellow. Where's the best place to pick up a roll of it for the best price or to give some business to a fellow HF member?

    Redden US Only?

It doesn't appear Redden ships to Canada. Pity.

I had the same problem, even if you have a US address they wont take a Canadian credit card (or paypal...). It really sucks.

I ordered my 1.75 Red Zing it! from an Arborist supply store: http://www.sherrilltree.com/Professi...-Red-Throwline but they don't do lash it!

Note: Also a good supplier for Dynaglide and ask them to ship USPS (it will save you some coin getting across the border (UPS can be a very nasty surprise).
