Maybe not on purpose, but......
Any of the quilt makers that get use on this forum are going to provide you with solid protection and fit. Personally, I'm a fan of the partial length underquilts due to the very reduced packed size and the weight, although, they aren't for everyone. My initial remark still stands; whatever you buy make sure it's going to cover your temp comfort range, plus a little. Being cold in the woods sucks, but being overheated is an easy fix. If you only plan to own one underquilt, error on the side of warmth.

Agree. 20* 48in-72in is a good place to start. Will cover in early spring and fall if it get unexpectedly cold. And can be vented in the summer to be nothing more than an expensive wind break.
