SOLD: Snowpeak Trek 900 cook set

I have a used Snowpeak Trek 900 set for sale. I am asking $30 , shipping will be $3.50 to CONUS, shipping elsewhere will be quoted seperately. Set new is 45ish. This set has signs of use, and has some pot blakening due to being used on a wood stove occasionally. I will clean it to the best of my ability before shipping to remove the creosote and soot. The inside of the pot is fine and has no issues. Despite being black its in like new condition.

I have used this to make dehydrated meals, boxed meals such as knorrs, zatarans etc, soups, ramen, pasta, hard boiled eggs, and more. It's the perfect size for a hiker to cook in and use as a mug.

Ti, i think the snowpeak trek 900 only comes in Ti. In fact i cant recall anything made by snowpeak that isn't Ti i think. But in any case, Yes, this cook set is Ti, both the pot itself and the frying pan lid.

Thanks, they come in both according to their site. I've been eyeing these actually along with the 600 or 700.

Or a bushcooker! (that's what i use, thanks four dog! still lovin it!)

@L84toff - I have the snowpeak 700 also. I like both the 700 and 900, but I am looking to get rid of my 900 because i am beginning to do more actual cooking in the backcountry. Ti being not that great for actual cooking due to heating unevenly, but it is perfect for just boiling, soups etc.

The 700 I originally bought to be my solo cook pot/mug. But I quickly learned it was a little too small to do the things i wanted all the time so I upgraded to the 900. The 700 was perfect for boiling 2 cups of water, making a soup, or having a cup of joe. But the 900 gave me more capacity to make a meal and have a drink at the same time etc. Overall I like the 900 better.

FYI Snow Peak does make this set in both aluminum & titanium. The titanium goes for about $45, the aluminum goes for about $20.

Thanks Rambler. Do you think the 900 pan is large enough to cook breakfast (bacon and eggs for instance) for 2 people? Something we'd do car camping. I like the 1400 for this but think that's too big to bring along for hiking. I'd like to keep it to 1 set (pot/pan) and maybe add a 600 or 700 for her that I can carry inside the 900.

But the more I think about this the more I think I'm going to need one set for hiking and one set for car/motorcycle camping. The more research I do the more my head spins. Your comment about the uneven cooking makes me think I should get a stainless set for car camping and just a couple 700's without a pan for hiking.

Got an M4 with BIOS on the way from minibulldesign that I'm certain will fit in any of the above.

Do yourself a favor a get some nice, big, heavy stuff for car camping. I keep a large rubbermade box with plastic cups, mismatched silverware, plates, metal pots, fullsized frypan, etc, for car camping.

My girlfriend & I struggled for a while with tiny, crappy, stuff while car camping... Eventually we make a nice big car camping cooking kit together.

It's not ideal but yes you can cook in it. I make pancakes, fried eggs, bacon, and fillet mignons all the time in the lid on the 900. I carry a small bottle of olive oil with me, and with proper use of oil its easy to cook. But i wouldn't want to do anything more than just frying something quickly. It takes a little getting used to, but is easily doable.

Can you cook enough for 2 at one time? No, especially not in the lid. I can do 2 eggs, few pieces of bacon, 1 fillet, etc at a time. Pancakes on the the lid are a finely aquired skill lol.
