While is an advantage to regional forums, I think it would only apply to a very narrow range of use here. I particularly like the fact that I can discuss topics with people half-way around the world, literally! Being human, I'm afraid I would get lazy and start looking at my region and miss many excellent posts. Plus, we are about to have a group hang here in FLorida attended by over 100 people, many of whom are NOT from this region. I myself went to Texas from Florida for a group hang because the folks there sounded so nice - I was not disappointed! I think things are working great at HF, and I always say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
As a newb to this forum, but who has participated for years in various motorcycling fora, Canada is often treated as one region, which if you think about it is just weird. So regional fora don't often make much sense.
I love the openness of learning from everyone around the globe, being able to attend any hang any where I want. I do try to mark "friends" with those I meet from my local area...but that has spread too. I think it's just another thing that makes this adventure unique.
