You might also want to check out The Ultimate Hang, tons of great info in there. There is a Kindle version so you can get instant gratification.
People like the asym banana hammock because it is a flatter lay, can be easy to make, and relatively cheap to make or buy. But you also get a flat lay out of a bridge hammock but there are pros and cons with bridge hammocks as well as you can read here.
