My DangerBird worked perfectly ths past weekend. It held up to high winds and cold nights, and did me well.
I'll get photos and a review up soon...but don't wait on me...pick one up and check it out.
The built-in weather shield and bug net, sharing the same zipper is just pure genius!
I might replace the ridgeline organizer with a larger one, or just supplement it.

That's awesome. I got the notice that it's my turn and he's beginning to work on mine.

I can't wait for your review.

    Finally got my photos uploaded.
DangerBird arrived about 2 hours before departing for camp. Typical winter camp...it was dark when we arrived. So my first set up was in the dark, cold, and wind.
I wasn't sure which end was the head or foot, or whether it matter. Figured the weather shield would be zipping from the foot toward the head, and the bug net the opposite. That's the way I set it up, and it worked great for me.

The dual layers didn't have openings as large as my WBBB, but I figured out how to get my pad between the layers.

The side pullouts have a fancy thing-a-ma-bob for tightening. I didn't have the energy to figure out how they worked that night. Saw how easy it was in the morning, and how nice they work! Nice feature.

There are loops for UQs, but I didn't see that in the dark (probably because I wasn't looking for them, they are small, and so well sewn into the seams, you barely notice them), so I used my DIY triangle thingies.

It came with whoopies and straps. I used my own straps, only because my Dutch buckles were on them and I had brought my WBBB setup, just in case. Remember the 2 hour window? I had already packed the WBBB. Figured I'd find a scout willing to test out hanging.

The DBird fit perfectly under my SuperFly, and with the weather shield, I felt no wind either night, despite gusts up to 50 MPH, and steady blows around 15 MPH.

Unfortunately, I can't review how it performed during either night, as I was sawing logs so sound that I'd never know. I do know I awoke, later than normal, still 3 feet off the ground. Always a bonus!

    This thing just rocks!

The only improvements I can possible think of would be a nice little embroidered PapaSmurf patch and either a little larger ridgeline organizer or a way to remove it (or keep it in it's position). One would just plain be cool, so I can show off who made it, the other would hold the stuff I was used to throwing on the WBBB shelf.

I'll be ordering another for FuzzieJr.

    Well done PapaSmurf!

is this the hammock that has a version of the BBO built in? and is it in the bag in the upper corner waiting to be deployed?

Yep, one end has the weather shield, with a bag. The other end has a bug net, with a bag. Both share the same zipper system.
    Pure genius.

Thia will be my next hammock. I made one like it only just the top cover and not the net. It was by far my favorite hammock and it was the only one I ever wore out. Now I don't have to make a new one.

Sorry, I'm tired and a little punchy. But hey, if you can't be yourself on HF....
