    Planet Hammock - Suspension

    Hi everybody,

    2012, time for something NEW!

    We would like to introduce to you our new suspension device:



    Ultralight and UV-resistant hooks (glass fiber reinforced polyamide)!

    L = 3,95 inches / 10 cm

    H = 0.35 inch / 9 mm

    W = 0,064 lb / 29 gram

    What is the weight limit on these? Also more pics with a hammock set-up would be nice.
    How much is shipping from the Netherlands to the USA on a set of these?
    Will it work with amsteel rope, or is that too slick?

    It can handle weight up to 180Kg it's VERY strong material!

    If 180 kg is the safe working load then it should be strong enough for a hammock (provided the safe working load is 25% of the actual breaking point). Planet Hammock's hammocks are rated for 20 kg less than this piece of gears' limit.

    We have checked it and the burst moment is at 500 Kg. / 1100 lb.

    Also have to remember that each tensioner will split the total load by 50% so in theory the total system should exceed the suggested weight limit for the hammock. Sounds like a great product. . .

    Correction, 1 tensioner already exceeds (as stated above)... hammock failure would occur first in any event before a tensioner failure.
