It seems a lot of people recommend parchment paper, and I already have a lot of that at my house so I'm going to use that instead of the fruit liners.

The square trays can be found on Amazon.

Also, it appears that the circular liners will still fit the FD-80 square dehydrator.

    Check the item details.

Well I disagree. I used parchment paper to make up for the lack of fruit liners for one of my meals and 50% stuck to the paper and was hellish to get it off without the paper being part of the meal. I will never do that again.

Get the fruit liners and save yourself the aggrevation.

We've also had bad results with parchment paper. Raul is correct about the hassle.

That's right...parchment paper. I couldn't think of what it was called...darn brain farts! So does parchment paper work in dehydrators in place of the fruit roll trays?

Mother-in-law gave me a Nesco fd-80, I can't wait to use it. It seems to get amazing reviews (as do all of the Nesco units).

Do y'all have a local store that stocks the fruit liners? I thought Bed Bath and Beyond might have them because they stock the dehydrator, but unfortunately they don't.

In case of breakdown you might try the sun.

IMO that kind of defeats the purpose of the square unit though. I'm going to do some more digging. I'd really rather the square unit....but supplies need to be easy to obtain.
