Added Tie Outs On BlackCat Tarp

Went ahead and added tie outs to my DIY BlackCat. I took info from this forum about sewing them round over square and so far they have held well in high winds.

Pretty happy with the placement of them.

Looks great Shug. The tie outs on the side really do make a difference.

Nice job - how long did it take to add?

BTW, is that PINK reinforcement material around the tie-outs? Or is it my monitor?

    Hey FishinFinn,
It took about 2 hours to do. The tricky part was working the tarp around the sewing machine but no big thing. The pink must be your monitor. I assume that your seeing the seam sealer.
I like them on there a lot and have used them every time since......

awesome I was looking for something like this, but I was wondering if it was possible to do pullouts with hand stitching instead of using a sewing machine since I don't have one, and if I do decide to go with the WB big mamajamba tarp I'd like to add some pullouts as my first modification.

Actually this shouldn't be here so i am going to post this on the DIY section sorry

Very nice Shug! I add pullouts to any tarp I make too.
The advantage of room it adds to your interior space, it doesn't make sense not too!

Question from the DIY frightened; wouldn't it be easier and better to use double-sided adhesive strips to laminate a patch? That way you avoid putting holes in your tarp, and eliminate
    (a) possible leak-spots
    (b) weakening the material
    ???

I freely admit that I know nothing, but is this method better?

Is there an adhesive that will stick to silnylon?

I have no idea, and that is a great point. 3m makes some stuff for cuben, surely they have other goodies for sil?
