for close to two years i've used eye-bolts (one can be seen in the full view pic w/ the window), but i wanted a little more distance & more flexibility in using different heights of attachment.
i know it isn't attractive, but it works<g>.
there are a couple additions that i will make to be sure every thing is rock solid, then... who knows, i may clean-up & paint that room... including the vertical hammock supports. ...tim

Naw - leave out the hammock part. "I don't know why they built the house that way...wonder what they used it for."

Then let HER say something about the hammocks.

"You know what? You're right! That WOULD make a great hammock support! You're so smart..."

Had to pull the plug, I'm afraid. I noticed today a crack in the paint right along the top of the doorframe. When I pulled on the bolt, I saw the whole frame slightly moving along that crack. Would have been nice, but I guess I'll have to break down and buy a stand.

It least you discovered the crack before the door frame was laying on the floor. Good luck on getting a hammock stand

HaHa. Thats not so bad. Could be ALOT worse. You could have two girls who want there room painted "sour apple green" on two walls and "maroon" on the other two. Not any green, but "sour apple green". My son is not old enough to want an Army room yet. But his crib set has campfires, tents, and his room is "camping" themed complete with photos of some of the places Ive been hanging in his room. I couldnt find a hammock themed crib set. BD

Yeah, but you're already working on those DIY skills...

And I hope my kids never want ANYTHING that's sour apple green and maroon.
