Yea, I wore a t-shirt and shorts quite comfortably yesterday while working in the yard. I suspect that it's cooler up in the mountains and a cold snap could always pass through. Should we put up some nominations for dates? I know that Feb. 10-12 is out for me. Oher weekends should be god unless work stuff pops up...which I can never predict.

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

I can make weekends of 2/24 and 3/10 and 3/17. The latter might make for a real nice St Paddys day.

I'm good for any weekend almost. I'm down for the Cohutta or anywhere on the AT (tons and tons of cool/beautiful places on the AT). Just got back from hiking to Hightower Gap from Woody Gap. Only 8.4 miles to finish in GA, and am going to do that next weekend for my birthday!
Happy early birthday, coldstealie!
Would this be a hang and hang, or an hang and hike? If the former, Big Cedar (north site) on the AT is a pretty good place to spend a while. Wouldn't mind a nice easy hike either - easy since my knee has been barking at me recently.
I believe any of those dates would work for me.
I would personally prefer a hang and hike since I'm just starting to get into backpacking (been a car camper my whole life). I'm always trying to find new places that are relatively close to me, so I'm up for just about any location. You guys who are more experienced will probably know more places than I.
