    Arrow North Georgia Hang, Anyone???

There was a hang scheduled several weeks ago that I was unable to attend, but I really wanted to go. That itch has only gotten stronger in the past few weeks to the point where I definitely need to get me some hanging in! Does anyone else have a hangin itch that needs scratching? I have yet to attend a group hang or a winter hang (by southern standards ), but I would love to go as long as work allows. I don't have a specific date or place in mind yet, but I figure maybe early February to give enough notice and allow it to warm up a bit...maybe. The Chattoogah River area is always a favorite and for good reason, but I'm open to other suggestions. Cast your votes now!

Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

There is a Conagree, SC hang the weekend of Feb 10th, you may want to come to that one and plan a N. Georgia hang later in the month or maybe early March. I would be interested.

Excellent idea. I'd never want to step on the toes of another hang, plus I'm originally from Columbia but I've never camped at Congaree. Do you have a link for that thread?

Peanuts, I could possibly give you a ride since you're so close, but you may want to keep looking for another ride. I have already missed two group hangs when something from work came up last minute which is apt to happen with my job.

Check out Panther Creek. Before I arose to the glorious hammock, I did a tent camping trip there. Pretty sweet little place. I might be able to make it to that hang, given I figure out a way to keep warm before that time comes.

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

It appears the best option will be to wait until early March so as not to conflict with some other hangs and to allow the weather to warm up. I've never been to Panther Creek, but it sounds like a really nice place. I'm always up to discover a new place, so that get's my vote.

The fastest, cheapest option is to use a pad underneath and a sleeping bag on top. You could also cut up 2 Walmart blue pads to make an SPE for added coverage for your shoulders and hips. An underquilt is probably the most comfortable option, but it's also the most expensive. I would throw together an SPE and then come to the hang to see a couple of different underquilts so you better know if you want to get one yourself.

Of course non-Georgians are invited. Even tenters are welcome, although I can't promise not to kick their tent poles out in the middle of the night! JK

I'm interested, but March may be a busy month for me. Huntington Beach Hang is the weekend of March 17th. Hope you can make that one, looks like it will be a nice one. I have to go to Pennsylvania one weekend that month for a baptism. I'm not sure which weekend right now. If this hang is on a free weekend, I will be there.
