Post Sixth Annual WB & HF Nashville Winter Dinner - Saturday, February 11, 2012

Sixth Annual WB & HF Nashville Winter Dinner
    Saturday, February 11, 2012

Here's the itinerary (you are welcome to any or all of the activities; the main activity is the dinner gathering):

2:00 - for those who would like, and if someone will volunteer to lead?-- a hike at Radnor Lake State Natural Area. Details to be announced.

5:00 - THE MAIN EVENT: Dinner at Ruby Tuesday next door to REI in Brentwood. RSVPs are very helpful, so I can tell Ruby Tuesday how many to expect.

7:00 - Presentation next door at REI by Kathy RedHat Sidebottom Markward on her thru-hike of the AT. I met RedHat first in '05 when I "thru'd" the GSMNP and she was on her first attempted AT thru-hike.

Questions? Volunteers? Complaints? Anyone needing a place to stay? Anyone offering a place to stay for out-of-towners?

Here is the address (and phone number) for the Nashville REI (Ruby Tuesday is next door)--
    261 Franklin Road
    Brentwood, TN 37027
    (615) 376-4248

Check this thread for changes and updates, which I'll post if necessary. FYI: Most "activity" and posts about this event will be on WhiteBlaze.

I'm looking forward to seeing whoever is able to attend. Last year we had 40 for dinner. Nothing like getting together for good food and yakking with fellow hikers and hangers. Well, except for hiking and hanging!

I might be able to do the dinner and show afterwards. The wifey might get foul if I am gone for two weekends and not bringing her off the bench.

I'm thinking I will be there. Planning on staying in TN for the week after hanging with Neo at Meriwether Lewis on 2/3 Feb. Probably go over to the National Wild Turkey Convention at Opreyland Hotel for the day and then do the dinner.

FC, if anyone wants to hike, then there will be a hike! Actually, I've had a couple other folks inquire, so it's looking good. I'll post an update some time this week, but it'll probably say meet at the Visitors Center at 2:00.

If the weather is really nice, parking may be at a premium. I might offer folks the opportunity to carpool from the Ruby Tuesday/REI parking lot. In which case, we'll meet there at 1:45.

If you have never been to Radnor Lake, you might check out the Friends Of web site. It has a trail map. There are lots of options for hiking short, long, flat, or hilly.
