Heres the situation I was in a few days ago: My son was having a birthday party sleep over with 3 of his friends. At the same time, my daughter had a friend over for a sleep over. So, we've got a small house, with 6 kids staying overnight---usually not a big problem, but I just started a new shift at work (finally got day shift after 22 years on the job!) I need to get up at 4 am each day, (and have to go to bed pretty early) My wife and I were talking about this the other day--the big question, how am I going to get any sleep with a house full of kids? (I have problems sleeping on a good day, let alone with noisy kids in the house!)
Anyway, to make a long story short, I set up my hammock and tarp, and slept out in the woods behind our house! I got up early, grabbed a water bottle and a handful of granola, changed clothes in the car and drove to work . I got plenty of sleep, and didnt wake the family up at 4 am! It was pretty much a win win situation. So I guess you could justify spending money on hammock gear because its good for your health, good for your family life, and good for your career!
