Yes thru hiker is where I got mine and it has been great only a low in the 20 but toasty warm. Winter is over for Texas have to wait a couple seasons to truly test next winter. Time to make some singles and some lightweight single layer hammocks.

Got mine from Thru Hiker. Have had my single-layer 5 oz Apex UQ down to about 25 and was comfortable. Haven't had a chance to try it when its been cold with my 5 oz Apex TQ...

I haven't used their 6.0 APEX, but their 4.0 APEX is easy to work with. I made a pair of modular quilts for my brother-in-law's birthday that he and his wife could combine to make a "couple's quilt" when they went camping. It was easy as all get-out to make.

How practical would it be to make a 3/4 UQ with CS 2.5 for mild weather. A full length UQ with CS 5.0 for nights in the 20-30s Then on real cold,teens use both. Perhaps have the 3/4 slip inbetween the full length and the hammock, using ties or snaps to keep in position?

probably wouldn't be all that hard at all. I want to make a summer cs 3/4 quilt to layer inside my down to add some warmth. adding 6 snaps may work well if its not to heavy for the suspension.

Not real hard at all. However, I'd go about it the other way 'round, with the full-length inside of the 3/4. Sealing up the ends of a full-length is more difficult than a 3/4 due to the curvature of the hammock (and the narrowness of your feet and head versus your shoulders and knees). It would be easier to design the 3/4 to grip the outside of the full-length than the other way 'round.

That's actually what I'm in the middle of doing with my DIY system, but I haven't gotten past the first layer...
