I recently made my own tarp out of sil. I am happy with the project but my ridge line and tie-outs aren't what I would like. My main concern is not the tie outs as much as the ridge line.
I tried a continuous ridge line for the first time with the tarp ends attached with a klemheist (sp?). This did not hold the ends taught due to slow, gradual slippage.
I am using dyneema for the ridge line and the same diameter (different color) for the klemheist. Is this a problem with dyneema or should I be using a different diameter for the ridge line or what?
I'm considering just going back to ties directly from the end of the tart to the trees like I have done in the past. Just wanted the structural integrity of the continuous ridge line.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jeff.
