    DD Hammocks

DD Hammocks - Home - Camping Hammocks Travel Hammock Tarp Basha Tent Replacement Lightweight

Anyone here have one? I came really close to getting one but the $50 shipping from the UK really turned me off at the last minute. Anyway, I was really curious about the double layer. Seems like a really good idea.

That looks just like an olive drab Claytor.

Agreed. Even the straps and stuff sacks appear to be the same.

I have a DD - got it from Redbeard. I love this hammock. Very similar to a Claytor, and very comfortable. The bug net tabs don't have anything to keep them spread out, though. Need to add a spreader bar pocket to hold the bug net open, and replace the crappy, heavy rope they give you. But I love it - and the price was right.

Is it wider than a Claytor Jungle? It kinda looks like it.

Wonder if you could get several hammocks shipped for the same price? Some of us could go together for an order to save on shipping.

I'll measure it when I get home, and post dimensions. BTW, what are the dimensions on the Claytor? I don't own one, just sat in one once.

I used to have an email address for someone over at DD - I'll see if I saved her address, and if so, we can ask her about shipping for multiples. They do sell their hammocks on the UK version of ebay, but the shipping is brutal, which is why I didn't get one until Redbeard sold me his.

I saw this on the DD site:

Shipping is $50 per order - Any Number of Items
I'm having a hard time finding any specs; length, width, weight, etc...

In the interests of hammockers I've just ordered a DD travel hammock. They currently are selling seconds @£26* which is cheap enough for me to take a punt on. (seconds in the way of missing net loops I believe, Hopefully I should know in a few days)

Hopefully the size is similar to the camping version, they look a bit small in pictures to me.

I'm looking at it as a second hammock and with the dual layer hopefully one that I can use a sleeping mat (or possibly a weeks worth of festival clothes) saving my underquilt for spring/autumn

The site mentions they are up for group deals and I know there is currently a group buy underway on bushcraftuk.com

*which would buy me 5.5-6 gallons of petrol/gas in the UK (if you think your prices are steep )
