The Bearfinder's knee has swollen up to the size of a grapefruit. It may be a reaction to some medication he is taking, but no one is sure yet. We will know more after some testing. Meanwhile, I am watching it. He seems to move along fine and not feel pain, but I still think it would be the height of irresponsibility to charge off into the woods with his knee looking that bad. We will see what it looks like on Thursday morning. He was in tears at the prospect of not going out - he has been counting on this for a while. I told him that if he cannot make it, I will not go without him which would be torture for him. More to follow.

Great news: I'll be bringing O-boy with me. This will be his first overnight outing with the forum members. He did drop by for a day visit at last month's Lake Wales Ridge hike, but his hammock was still on the UPS truck.

I hope Bearfinder's knee feels better by this weekend, and applaud your sense of family and responsibility, Flackfizer. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
That's great to hear about O-boy, MAD777. Hope to meet him at the hang!
Bearfinder, take care of that knee hope to see you this weekend.
Looking forward to seeing O-boy again.
Going to miss all those that can't make it. Heading up to check out the water conditions at the river tomorrow. Will post the results later.

Hopefully its only a temporary reaction, when I was growing up, I can remember that happening to me, both of my knees swelled up. Turns out I had a reaction to my knee-high socks of all things. I really hope to see both of you out there, but I, like the other guys, want to make sure BF is ok and ready to hike the next one. Give him our best!
