    WTB Old Backpack

I have been inspired by Shug's video of his pulk pulling palaver and decided to try my hand at making my own pulk. I managed to muster up all the supplies I need, except for a decent backpack hip belt to make into a harness.

If anyone has a backpack they would like to get rid of PM me. It doesn't need to be in good shape, just as long as it has a hip belt that is in usable condition. Or if anyone has a hipbelt, that would of course work too.

    Thanks

REI has some hip belts for around $30. If you check their outlet/clearance section they probably have some for even less than that. Good luck with your pulk.

It seems as though you have no aversion to DIY, so why not make a hipbelt? For my backpack I just stuck some CCF in a ripstop sleeve and sewed some webbing on it. Comfy, cheap and light.

    thanks

thanks for the suggestions. this is my first DIY project. I figured it would be a good one to start with. Pretty straight forward. I've never tried sewing other than buttons on my pants, but that may be a direction I take. For now, I picked up one of those REI clearance Hipbelts for $5. (thanks futbolfreak) I think it's a women's, but it should do the trick.
