    Cotton thread

    is a a few lines if cotton stitching enough to for my hammock straps? its all i have available.

    Cotton is a no no for outdoor gear, it will rot and is not very strong. Use a 100% polyester thread, its much stronger and more durable. Several of us shops here on the forum sell the right stuff.
