Is this a good Thread Injector?

I was given an old, metal Universal, model CB Deluxe. Heavy as lead, in great condition (appearance at least as I haven't tested it yet, but was told it works perfectly - ya know how that goes sometimes).

    Is it good and reliable?

    Thanks in advance!

If it is an older machine, there were not that many makers of sewing machines, I don't think. It was probably made by a big name company and sold in a dept store that wanted to sell there brand per say. This went on a lot and there are a lot of knock off machines out there.
I would try it out, probably a good machine

Does it look like this? If so it's identical to my Singer 201 - very stout heavy duty machine!

The first pic is the universal and the second is the Singer 201

It should be a fine machine if it was properly cared for. Make sure it is clean of lint and any pivot points _very lightly oiled_. DO NOT USE 3 IN 1 OIL! Use only a lightweight sewing machine oil.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
