    Video: Lost!

I got lost on a day hike. The trail I was following ran out and I realized I had gotten onto a game trail. It was a minor setback to an otherwise lovely walk.

No matter your skill level, when you find yourself in the woods alone and you don't know where you are....... it helps you find out what your made of real fast.

The best part is that I went out to specifically try out a hammock I borrowed from a friend, and I forgot it at the firehouse. It was a dumb day all around...

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

Love that quote. My dad always taught that to me and my brothers growing up. Funny how many things it applies to. Glad you made it out ok.

    Think you lost the trail?

Step 1 Take out GPS and Mark that spot so you can at least always get back there.

Step 2 Then scout out around or try to back-track to find trail.

Step 3 IF you can't find the trail, have the GPS show you the Topo Features that will get you back to where you started.

You Did Mark Your Start didn't you???

You can get in real trouble where i live but its hard to get lost. The only time i got lost was when i went to live in the city for a while.

Yeah, some days just have no luck. And forgetting the hammock, that sure sucks.

Something going wrong doesn't have to be the adventure.. I try to get lost on purpose sometimes. That way no one can find me

Great video BTW. Good info to live by.

Glad you made it back out okay. Lived the music, made me reminisce of "Survivor Man" (I really do miss that show). Glad to see that I'm not the only one who prepares for a couple nights in the woods for a simple day hike.
