eno straps suck period. they dont offer as much adjustment as plain straps do, and the materials are totally different so they do stretch.

Yes ENO straps are junk, plain and simple. I have used them in the past, and I have had them stretch on me as much as 6 inches.

Mule on here sells straps, and they are very good. I have bought couple pair from him, and soon to purchase another...

Rev is clearly still on the fence about ENO's CrapStraps. But his heart is in the right place. He's trying to help you out. Do yourself a favor. Don't buy straps from ENO. I don't know how to make it any clearer than that.
The worst thing about ENO's straps is that they know they're crap but choose to deny it and keep churning them out.
If you want cheap straps, go to HD or Lowes and get a roll of mule tape.

Slap straps stretch once you get in your hammock for any period of time. Badly.

I have always wondered why they do not switch from nylon to polyester webbing. Other suspensions would still have more adjustability, but it would still be a major improvement on their product.

I will second, third and fourth the comments that ENO straps have unbelievable stretch in them (and that they suck) because they're made of nylon webbing. Polyester or polypropylene are far better with less stretch. Design wise, I am OK with ENO straps. The material is the real issue for me.

I bought 1 inch polyester webbing with a 1,500 lb. working load and stitched my own straps from that. Works great. No sag throughout the night.

I bought the Slap Straps before I knew any better. They do stretch, but it's not a deal breaker. I rigged my hammock with whoopies, so when I set up, I just hang tighter than usual, then as the straps stretch, I settle right in to the butter zone. It takes some practice to know exactly how much to compensate, but it's doable.

Sounds like you are in the same place I was a month ago.

I wanted ready-made tree straps; I didn't want to use a "thread injector" or tie knots in straps purchased from WW, Harbor Freight, et. al. So I was looking at the straps made by hammock companies and reading bad things about them.

After a bunch of searching here, I ended up ordering seatbelt polyester "simple slings" from strapworks.com.

I wanted loops in both ends, so I ordered (2) 6'x1" wide seatbelt polyester simple slings with 2" loops on each end for $5.34 each. You can save money by ordering (1) 12' simple sling and cutting it in half if you don't want loops on both ends. These straps are much better and 1/2 the price of the straps any of the hammock companies sell.

Use code "Hammockforums" at checkout for a small discount to boot.
