Banjoman, thanks for the sound advice. I can see lulling to the sounds of the sirens on the Mo river and suddenly going down!
JerryW I hear you on getting the miles in. We're going to do the Heintooga Ridge Road next off week in that effort to expand the rear callus and at the same time see a side of GSMNP I've never seen before.
Also as a warm up and continued saddle time for the Katy some of are going back to the Greenbriar ~my favorite of all the railtrails we've done~ if any are interested be at the northern terminus May 5th....don't know the time as of yet. I'd like to be on the road Thursday afternoon for an earlier start than last years Greenbriar ride and shoot for 30 miles the first day, 30 the second, and 20 on the out.
If you've never done the Greenbriar it is scenic, remote (no cell service for 80 miles), beautiful, blessed with great campsites along or close to the river and devoid of much traffic (the annual race is held a couple weeks before this ride).
