Banjoman, thanks for the sound advice. I can see lulling to the sounds of the sirens on the Mo river and suddenly going down!
JerryW I hear you on getting the miles in. We're going to do the Heintooga Ridge Road next off week in that effort to expand the rear callus and at the same time see a side of GSMNP I've never seen before.
Also as a warm up and continued saddle time for the Katy some of are going back to the Greenbriar ~my favorite of all the railtrails we've done~ if any are interested be at the northern terminus May 5th....don't know the time as of yet. I'd like to be on the road Thursday afternoon for an earlier start than last years Greenbriar ride and shoot for 30 miles the first day, 30 the second, and 20 on the out.
If you've never done the Greenbriar it is scenic, remote (no cell service for 80 miles), beautiful, blessed with great campsites along or close to the river and devoid of much traffic (the annual race is held a couple weeks before this ride).

Med man: last summer I did the GRT. Cell service has improved. I'm using Verizon. The southern end & Anthony was good. Marlinton area improved. Cass finally had service.

Reservations made for the shuttle for June first. We will be leaving 12-1pm from the Lococo house. There is still room for 2 - possiblly 3 more riders for anyone interested. We are dividing the cost of the shuttle. If someone wants to go and not ride/hang with us, that is cheap transportation. 325 plus tax for 6-8. We have six already and our sag can haul 1-2 more if needed.

I would like Amtrack from St. Louis, KC may be solved. Do 40-60 kilometers out, I would not be too hard, the daily ride in the last month, 30 and 50.

If my ride can't pick me up or i was able to ride with ya it wouldn't be a problem.
Eagels may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked through jet engines!!

    JBizzle,
For those of us to uncoordinated to match up the dates do they happen to coincide?
That would be ever so sweet to bike into an extant hang.

OK, so this is now getting a lot closer.

Weasel will be 'hanging' with you guys (pun intended! ) for this run. As the designated dropper offer and picker upper for him, I'm looking for some specific times/locations that you're hoping to kick things off.

I'm thinking that I'll be dropping him off at the start location directly...it's closer to us than meeting up in St Louis.

So...is there a specific location and time that you guys are planning on rendevousing at in Clinton that I can deliver him too?

And is there an address or specific location I can find on google maps to pick him up at on the last day?

Thanks guys...he's really been looking forward to this!
