    I recall Wiggy telling a friend of mine to wash his synthetic bag if it was losing loft. His view was the sizing used to stabilize the fiber fill was the problem. Hey, you never know. ;-)

    My deal is storage: when my gear is cleaned and put away after a trip (which are too few and far between), I need it to take up as little space as possible, and I want it as low maintenance as possible. I store my synthetics stuffed, lightly compressed, and have had no issues whatsoever. I don't want to make room to hang down items uncompressed.

    Lazy? Probably. But for three-season camping, my sleep system is light enough and small enough and comfortable for me.
