    I really like your design. Putting stuff inside that bag and digging it out could be a pain. The outside pockets are a must. Things that can be put away til morning would be good for inside the sack and books, ipods, etc for the out side vertical pockets. I make some similar to yours, except out of bugnet material.

    There are lots of combo-stuff sack RLOs done. Yours is simplicity at it's best.

    If you find the sack sags or slides too much, you can tie prussic loops to your ridgeline and clip the stuff sack to the loops..

    I have made several. The ones below are stuff sacks with outside pockets.

    This one uses a velcro flap.

    This one uses mitten hooks, and holds my daughter's hammock in her pack.

    Making the mesh pocket was a pain. Edging it was not a lot of fun... No more mesh pockets for me.

    Nice idea.

    I am curious though, why do you find the need for the mitten hooks? I tie my stuff sacks to the ridge line with larks head knots. No need for anything additional, just the closure cord. As long as there is nothing heavy in the stuff sack it comes undone with ease in the morning.

    Wouldn't you have to pass the whole stuff sack through the closure cord to remove it then?

    I like this idea but I use an external ridgeline so it wouldn't work for me

    Good idea, I have two mitten clips left over and this is the next destination for them!

    Out comes needle and dental floss (just because I still have so much left)

    One thought, tilt the sack slightly with a bit longer attachment at the closed end of the sack.

    Eventhough I have a Blackbird, I really like this ridgeline idea especially for the smaller items (i.e. emptying my pockets before bed)

    Thanks eflat. The sad part is I've never used mine, as I started stuffing my hammock and quilts all in one big bag. Oh well, it was a fun project.

    The larks head is how I had been doing it as well.

    The mitten hooks are fueled by pure laziness. I can now avoid the enormous calorie expenditure of having to use a second hand to get my stuff out of the bag.

    @REV & @Bannerstone - I like the tilt idea.
