I'm going to be leaving probably around 10ish.. maybe 9 but that's being optimistic.

Is site H easy to find on the trail?

Slo, its super easy to find.

To those planning to hike the west side of the middle loop. Prepare to be wet, as there are 10ish small stream crossings to the begging or end (closest to the trail head) may want to avoid hiking clockwise (backwards on the map) if its cold and your hiking in.

I may swing a night hike on a saturday. Anyone gonna be there then?

I'll be at whatever site we end up at Saturday night, but I plan on hiking in Saturday morning. It'll be nice to see you out if you can make it!

Guys, it would appear that there are only 3 "authorized" sites on the whole trail: "H", "C", and "D". Any thoughts on which of the other two you'll shoot for Saturday night? It's a three hour drive for me, plus a few hours hike to site H. I don't want to hold you guys up in the morning, and I probably won't feel like waking up at 4 in the morning (I may have to work late Friday night), so perhaps it might be better for me to just decide to either meet you on the trail or get to the Saturday night site a bit early and make camp, collect firewood, get water, etc. It looks like Site D has water supplied at the site, and site C has it within a third of a mile. C is closer to the trailhead (less than 2 miles), so it may be better for night hiking in, and for packing up and leaving Sunday morning.

It'd be nice to be closer for to the trailhead for me as well. I have to be to work Sunday afternoon and I'd rather not have to rush around in the morning.

So it looks like Site "C" is preferable for Saturday night....going once...going twice...

Got some church committments on Fri/Sat AM so my new plan is to hike into Zaleski Sat. afternoon and meet up with you guys at C camp.

Really want something more than a couple miles, might do the south loop clockwise if there's enought daylight (8 mi).

Looks like the weather report is shaping up pretty well for the weekend, low on Fri high teens, chance of snow on Sat and expected low of 11. Woohoo!

The forecast just keeps getting better. Accuweather isn't forecasting any snow, but they are confirming the low of 11.

I haven't decided my full itinerary yet. All I know is that I'm ending up at site C for Saturday. Slo, Luke, any thoughts on which way you'll be taking to get there from H? I may meet you along the trail and walk in with you.
