Well folks, I'm finally able to further comment on this. I wasn't sure until yesterday that I was going to be able to make this hang to Mt. Pleasant, but now I am! Barring any emergencies or snow (hah!), I will definately be on site (Mt. Pleasant trailhead) by noon on Friday (3/23) and will be one one trail or another until Sunday AM. I'm not sure of the exact spot I'll be hanging because there are so many! I'll probably look for a site with great views, some protection and tent-challenged terrain. I would guess somewhere about 2.5 miles hike from the parking area.
If anyone is interested in meeting up for some hikin' and hangin', post here when you plan to arrive and we can meet at the trail head. I am totally stoked to be out and about!
Trip Report: Friday was a spectacular day full of hiking and a couple naps. The new hammock chair worked great for those trailside snoozers! Ended the hiking early to set up camp and play with the new hammcok sock and tarp. By the time supper was eaten, I got the distinct feeling that it was time to head back to town. I knew the area was due for some rain, perhaps thundershowers, but the storm system that hit the area had a lot of people seriously concerned. That's ok, I got to test my new gear, got some sun and fresh air, and a bit of exercise. I will definately be making a return trip!
