Sort of depends what kind of trip it is. If I'm bringing an ice axe and crampons I'm at around 18.75 lbs. Without them, around 15.5 lbs. This takes me down to 0 degrees. 15 degrees or above and I'm at around 9 lbs.

The weights don't sound bad at all. I'm packing for an overnighter this weekend. Been waiting for enough snow to go out, but couldn't wait. Just as well, it will give me a chance to test my diy winter tarp and my jarbridge uq.

My stuff is synthetic, no down, except for my booties. It is supposed to be low 30s. Equipped with the winter tarp, jarbridge uq and 20* bag, hopefully, I'll be warm. If you think I may not, please give me some suggestions on how to improve. I hate cold....brrr!

Sounds like you should be covered. You can always sleep in all your layers if temps drop lower than expected.

I won't know until I actually get my pack (a new 2011 model Osprey Kestrel 48 is on the way) and the rest of my stuff, but I estimate my base weight before food and water will be 12-15 lbs. I have tried to get it down, but with a 3.5 lb pack and 4.5 lbs of "hammock stuff" alone, I'm already at 8 lbs. Still have to add stove, cookware, utensils, first aid/safety, toiletries, small radio, camera, knife, .50 cal Desert Eagle (just kidding), book, headlamp, nightlight, water purifier (Sawyer One Point), etc.

I actually was really considering a ULA Circuit, but I am not sold on the comfort of ultralight packs yet. I think that industry is still maturing. Not to take away from the original topic at hand. Meh - it's only about a pound dif. anyway.

I'm generally around 9 pounds base weight if its above 15*, full skin-out weight (~3 day trip) is around 16-18 pounds, unless I'm carrying snowshoes, etc.

About 23 lbs in the winter for a weekend, about 18-20 for a weekender in the warm weather. Before food and water. If its a really hot weekend I can go lighter cause I will barely eat and mostly filter what I drink.
