    The Knot

    The knot worked fine.
But I am not sure if I have the snugfit on the hammock correctly at the ends. Frankly, I'm not sure what to do with the end elastics of the snugfit. Do they go OVER the strap of the hammock? I don't see anything for the elastics to attach TO. I'm a little confused.

Also, I still am not too pleased with how close to my face the bugnet is. I guess I'll just have to make my own. If I use a pillow, it will practically be sitting on my face, even when tight. Weird feeling....

Does anybody have a close up photo of how the snugfit elastic ties attach to the Speers hammock?

Has anyone made a larger (higher) bugnet for their Speers? Photos?

    Annie,

The SnugFit elastic clips via carabiners to either the webbing or the D-ring. I generally just clip the carabiner over the webbing at the hammock knot. You should have received two carabiners with it.

The Speer bugnet is a minimalist approach.

    Thanks

    Thanks,
I went to the Speers website and finally found the pics.
Duhhh... sometimes it takes me a while.

Well, I love the hammock & UQ but the bugnet will drive me buggy, so I'm off to make myself a new one.

    Thanks

Good luck with the bug net. Bug nets are a pain, but when you need 'em, you need 'em.

That looks just fine. The SnugFit is quite forgiving with it's full-width spandex suspension; even if hung a little too loosely or tightly the suspension will accomodate.

That looks like plenty of sag. I feels right to you, then it is right.

With that bugnet, you likely will want to adjust the length of the bugnet's ridgeline while you are laying in the hammock to find the best compromise.
