    Down!

I plan on using an old sleeping bag as a top quilt. I was going to remove the old insulation and add down to the inside of the sleeping bag. I wonder where i can purchase some down to stuff inside the sleeping bag shell to make a top quilt.

May not be the best place ...but places.

May be some cottages that carry it too.

Ps. I also heard of buying discount down and the core of the pound being waste or just feathers.

One thing you may want to worry about is if the fabric is downproof. It would suck to fill it only to start loosing it immediately.

I was thinking that too. And...

The absence of a proper baffle system would leave the down free to shift all over the bag.
