I am trying to make up my mind on getting either a Double or a Single Parachute Hammock and would like to hear what you like about either and with your setup of whoopies or other, the weights. If you have any dislikes as well,,fire away please.

I prefer double bottom for mosquito protection, and for inserting a pad. I hate a pad in the hammock with me because it moves around as I move while sleeping.
I have an UQ now, but I still like the double bottom for extra insulation and a pad if it is really cold.

I am a UQ and TQ guy,,what I meant was,,what is your prefererance in width of hammocks and why,,pro's and cons...width as in the 2 person vs. the single person,,I have a skeeter beater pro, and figured,,when I sleep with the hammock flipped over, that I am getting a basic different lay alittle with the bug net on the bottom tightened alittle by body weight, but going to a single vs a double parachute hammock..just wanted to hear everybodys opinion..

how tall are you? i'm about 6'1" and i found that i did not care for the seams between the three panels, especially the one under my shoulder on the GT single. the width was good but the seam did not feel like it was stretching the same as the rest of the hammock and i found it uncomfortable. that being said my nightly sleeper is an ENO double and i believe the GT double is the same width.
I am 6',,,170 lbs.

The double will give you more room to lay diagonal or lounge in different positions and as cinnamon said the seam on the single can be annoying. With a double you may get some excess side material that can be floppy and annoying when laying in it although you are taller so it might not be as bad. I wish they had an in between width. I cut off the side portions on my ENO double so what I had was a hammock 10 inches wider than a single with no seams to lay on. Given the choice, I'd go with a double.

Don't let life get in the way of living.
If you like a big hammock, the HH Safari is a big hammock and is very comfortable. I have one without the net (October Hennessey sale) and it is so comfortable. The ones with the net are also very comfortable. My husband won't use any other hammock, he loves the Safari so much. Search the Safari on this forum, and you will find some good information on it.

I have the SBP, a double, and a couple of ULs, but not the single. Having said that, the dimensions of the single and SBP are the same. I've never flipped my SBP over, so I don't know if the mosquito net would be a factor in the lay or not (and making it feel different than the single.)
I really like the double. It does have the "floppy side" syndrome, but it doesn't bother me and I use the extra material to nest my pillow on one end and my feet on the other. You can really get diagonal in the double (I'm 6' 3" by the way.) I pitched the stock suspension on all my Grand Trunks and use whoopies, tree straps, and SRLs.
I think you'd like the double for it spaciousness, with the caveat that it's a bit heavier than the single and you'll have that loose material on the sides, which may or may not be a big deal to you.
