NY/CT Border to Dalton, MA - Who's Down?

Got time off from work to do my biggest hike to date - Lookin for anyone who wants to join me for part or all of the trip.

Starting from the NY/CT Border (June 2nd) and stopping off at Dalton, MA.

If anyone wants to tag along or meet me out here's my projected schedule:

Day 1 – Mt Algo Shelter 11.2 Miles (Sat)

Day 2 – Cesar Brook Campsite 14 miles (Sun)

Day 3 – Belters Campsite 9.1 miles (Mon)

Day 4 – Stealth near stream after Giants Thumb 7.9 miles (Tues)

Day 5 – Camp Sages Ravine Campsite 9.6 miles

Day 6 – Hike into Great Barrington 18 miles (Thurs)

Day 7 – Zero Eat my face off and do Laundry (Fri)

    Day 8 – Nero/Zero (Sat)

Day 9 – Mt Wilcox North Shelters 11.8 miles (Sun)

Day 10 – Upper Goose Pond 13.3 miles (Mon)

Day 11 – October Mountain Shelter 9.5 miles (Tues)

Day 12 – Kay Wood Shelter 8.8 miles (Weds) (possibly hiking into Dalton)

Day 13 – Hike into Dalton 2.9 miles (Thurs)

    Total Miles = 116 miles

Almost 5 weeks into my first phase of training. No good hiking trails here on Long Island so 95% of my training is weight training and cardio machines. Sucks but that's what I got.... making lemon aide.

    Peace,

    Raul

That looks like a bad boy Raul! Really looks like it will be a blast. Consider me envious!

Awsome...Looking forward to the trip report.
Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

NY-CT border NB may be the next section of the AT my hiking partner and I will do.
Last time we planned that section, two days before Hurricane Irene hit, we cancelled.
Good thing ! AT was partially underwater.

It would be great to meet up with you for a few days / evenings.
Time around the non-campfire ( no fires in CT ). Stories and all.

Hiking partner, BobO, is very experienced and 77 yrs old.
I always hike his pace, so that varies greatly in daily distance.

Do not know when we are doing that section, but perhaps we will just make it happen.

We have been going out for 3 / 4 day trips, ( both our schedules did not allow longer last year)
but plan to start week long trips this spring or late winter.
We might do NJ to PA first, then return to NY-CT border later in the spring when campfire warmth is less necessary.

My husband has been dropping us off and picking us up. I live in Queens ( NYC ).

I will think seriously about this meeting up for some of the distance.

Perhaps here is a good place to bring this up.

I do not want to organize a Hang.

Yet, would like to introduce a possible declaration of NY NJ CT hanging hikers who may wish to have spontaneous hikes : the weather is good, anyone want to meet on a trail ( personal preference the AT ).

In PA at 501 shelter on AT members have met for swiftly arranged hikes.

I live in NYC, an hour drive is nice.

Spoke with my AT hiking partner.
Looks good to meet up with you for a few days. Some of the approx 10 mile days.

Perhaps before your zero day. Then you will catch up with us up the trail.
We are hoping to cross paths and hang nights with members this year.

Will follow thread and keep in touch.

If other members begin to gather we can adjust to suit.
