Might as well use that hiking pass to do something with. Maybe find a local spot that's perhaps less ambitious but still "out".

I went for the door 2 times and opened the door once and every time my gut said stop. I am always saying listen to my gut, so I am this time. I have just officially punked out.

So I am now going to pull the sewing machine out and start on a new hammock

lol fingers crossed. The weather radar is annoying me at the moment. It is looking like they think it is going to wrap around where i would have been. Time to quit going to weather.com lol

Looking at the radar I am glad I listened to my gut. Also I had a diy project that I did today. Hammock with side entry zipper, noseeum netting on 1.1 nylon. Little heavy with whoopies, right at 14oz. but pimp. I am going to see how it hangs tomorrow, and then at least you will get a couple pictures.

Just bank that trip day up for the Linville Gorge and enjoy 3 days in The Big Ditch!

Always listen to your gut. And if you don't get your UQ done, just use your SB as a peapod. It worked for me down to 28 with a yoga pad and my jacket around the head area
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

That was the plan. I have an old syn bag I was going to use as an UQ and another as a top. Half my bag was . . . bags

So due to the weather gods raining on my get-away pass I created this baby.

Tucks nicely under my diy tarp
