My new NX250

At 11:36 EST, UPS dropped of my "package". That is a good thing. At 12:00 I had to go to Atlanta for about three hours. Not a good thing. Anyway, I got home and unpacked and checked it all out, NX250, Vertex Fly, straps, rings, rods (even included their new pouch to contain the rods), tie out cord, all there, but I ran out of daylight, so tomorrow our weather is supposed to be sunny and I will hang this thing and have time to get acquainted. Can't wait. Plus, so many things to add, whoopies, etc. Should keep me amused for at least a few days.

First chance I get, I'm hanging on top of Springer Mt., might even see a few hikers setting out.

Same setup I use. You will see it is awesome.
Just got the zliner too. I will probably use the footend all year round and the pocket insulation only when it gets cold.

O.K., It is up. I even did it without modern "miracles", although I plan to get some of them. It was fun putting up new gear and coping with knot tying, breeze blowing and trying to remember some of what I had read, at the same time wondering if I was doing it right. It must have been, because when I finally got in the thing nothing broke or fell or came loose, maybe my personal best, and it felt awesome to lay back and relax. I eagerly await my trip around the learning curve.

Good for you I haven't set mine up that I got in November, as of yet. I know how could I but my boys and their troop are going to Ely camping and I am bringing it with to set up and try out finally. Just got whoopie slings and dutch buckles to put on before I go.

Been a bit on the wet side here, and with no under insulation other than the pockets, I'm waiting for a night above the 20's. Tomorrow I am putting together a turtle lady type stand to use in the yard, and if nothing happens I will be in it for a good overnight this week, if I have to steal pillows off of every bed in the house to put in the pockets.

Looking forward to hearing your first experiences. Just remember, hang the foot higher than the head.

Built a take off on the TurtleLady tripod stand, and was a bit disappointed with the hang. It seems as if I cannot get the sag and the foot end high bits to work just right hanging off of the ridge pole. There is no problem when using trees, so off to the drawing board to try a new stand design with vertical ends. I will have a diy gathered end pretty soon and the stand I have will get used then.
